New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi Thursday hoisted the national flag at party headquarters here. Top party leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and Rahul Gandhi were present.
The Congress president however refused to take any questions on issues like the food security bill or 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
"Today I will only say Happy Independence Day to all of you," Sonia Gandhi said in response to questions from the media.
The Congress president also distributed sweets among children on the occasion.
Union Ministers A.K. Antony, P. Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid and senior leaders Ahmed Patel, Ambika Soni and Janardan Dwivedi, among others, were present on the occasion.
