Vijaypur (J&K): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today hit out at Congress for trying to take credit for all the good work done by NC-led government and described the attitude of the party as the highest example of “opportunism and falsehood”.

“Congress and its leadership is attempting to take credit for all the good work done by National Conference-led government in the state and shifting blames for its own shortcoming and failures on the National Conference,” Omar said addressing an election rally at Vijaypur in favour of its candidate Surjit Singh Slathia.

He said this attitude of Congress was the highest example of “opportunism and falsehood”.

“You cannot take credit for all the good work done by my government and blame NC and its leadership for the shortcomings of your own party and ministers,” he said.  “In fact Congress opposed the proposal moved by me three times in the Cabinet for creation of new administrative units in the state,” he said maintaining that Congress now wants to take all the credit to lure voters.

Omar recalled that during the Lok Sabha election campaigning, when he and his party colleagues were campaigning for Congress candidates and projecting Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate, the Congress was showering praises on National Conference and its leadership, and now they are finding all faults in us.
