Vadodara: Congress candidate from Vadodara, Narendra Rawat, landed in a controversy on Saturday when he displayed his party symbol outside a polling booth after casting his ballot here.
The Election Commission took cognizance of the incident and issued a notice to Rawat.
The Congress' candidate was seen displaying a replica of right hand, the party symbol, after he exercised his franchise today, an official said.
He was seen taking a photograph of himself with the replica of the party symbol.
The voting for by-elections in three Lok Sabha, including Vadodara, and 33 assembly constituencies spread across ten states began at 7 am on Saturday amidst tight security.
Vadodara seat was vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he chose to represent Varanasi in the Lok Sabha.
