New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday said that Minister of State for External Affairs Gen. V.K. Singh (retd) should quit if he felt disgusted, referring to the tweets with the hashtag "Duty" and "Disgust" he sent out after attending Pakistan Day function here.
"If the minister is so disgusted with the double standards of the government on Pakistan.... then he should have quit," Congress leader Manish Tewari told reporters.
He also tweeted that if the minister felt "disgusted with the double standards of his government on Pakistan he should quit? Other ministers in the past refused to attend Pakistan events."
Singh on Monday attended the Pakistan Day function in the presence of the Pakistan envoy, leaders of the Hurriyat Conference and other separatist outfits.
Hours after attending the event, Singh sent out a series of tweets, calling to define "disgust" and "duty", indicating that he was unhappy at being deputed to attend it.
