Modi also recalled his close association with late BJP leader Rajmata Vijyaraje Scindia, Jyotiraditya's grand mother, on the occasion seeking to strike an emotional bond with the people of the region.

"Rajmataji's blessings have always been with us. Make BJP win here and I take responsibility of development in this area," he said.

Urging the people to vote for BJP and help it give a stable government and not the one depending on crutches, Modi said vote for BJP in a manner that the nation gets a strong and stable government for ensuring development.

He also prasied Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, for ensuring development in the state.

"Chouhan has built more roads, did more for power, irrigation in these 10 years as compared to 50 years of Congress rule and successfully removed the BIMARU tag from it," he added.    Earlier in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, Modi showered praise on veteran BJP leader L K Advani. "He has built the party with his hard work, he has taught four generations of the BJP workers to live and die for the party. Thousands of party workers are blessed to have a guiding figure like him," Modi said.

He added that he had always been fortunate to receive Advani's guidance in his political journey. "It is our privilege to serve Advani-ji when he is contesting from Gandhinagar. Party workers have to ensure victory of Advani-ji by a huge margin from Gandhinagar," Modi said.

"We will exhaust our energy to win not only the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat but we will also win all the seats of Gujarat," Modi said, addressing the party workers at Nabhoi village of Gandhinagar.

"Advani-ji prompts me right now to think of the 28 seats (26 of Gujarat and two seats of union territories) including Dadra Nagar Haweli and Daman and Diu seats. Gujaratis are there too," Modi said.

Remembering his entry into politics, Modi said, "Basically I am a Sangh (RSS) worker, I had to enter into electoral politics under uncommon circumstances."

"I left my house to work for the Sangh's ideology, the party gave me the responsibility, and I am here where your are seeing me now," Modi said.
