New Delhi, Jun 27: Congress today described as “personal view” Home Minister P Chidambaram's remark that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should speak more often.
“These are his personal views. As a practising politician, he is fairly entitled to articulate them”, party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters.
He said this when asked to comment on Chidambaram's remark that people wanted the Prime Minister to speak more often.
Asked as to what the party's advice was to the Prime Minister on the issue, Tewari said, “It is not for me to tender him any advice. He is very wise, seasoned and experienced person who knows when it is time for him to articulate his views.”
Chidambaram's remarks had come in the backdrop of the Prime Minister studiously keeping away from the debate on Lokpal bill amid confrontation on whether his office should be under the Lokpal. PTI
