Congress on Monday dismissed Nitin Gadkari's criticism of Rahul Gandhi's "lack of experience" on infrastructure issues, calling the BJP president as an "extension board" of the RSS who deserved no response.
"We have great respect for the president of the BJP. Unfortunately, I don't think he has acquired the political gravitas (that he be) responded from this podium," Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari told reporters. Tiwari said Gadkari was "extension board of RSS in Delhi who is plugged in by second rung leaders for sustenance."
Tiwari's sharp reaction came when asked to respond to Gadkari's reported statement that Gandhi lacked experience on infrastructure issues.
"I am not concerned about what Rahul Gandhi has said. I am not taking it very seriously as far as this project is concerned because he has no experience about infrastructure," Gadkari had said in Chennai yesterday in response to a question on river interlinking. PTI
