Bhopal, Jul 14: Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly and Congress member Ajay Singh today sought senior BJP leader L K Advani's intervention to check corruption in the party-ruled State.
“I urge you to take steps to prevent corruption in Madhya Pradesh where it was assuming serious proportion both in the Government and the BJP organisation,” Ajay said in a letter to the former Deputy Prime Minister.
The Congress leader said he was making this appeal to Advani as he had last year taken out a nationwide yatra to highlight the need to fight against corruption.
He said the BJP in Madhya Pradesh was not paying any attention to check corruption and the menace had taken deep roots in the State as it was getting “protection” from those occupying high posts.
The Opposition leader maintained that Advani had protested against imposition of the Emergency and worked for ensuring the right to freedom of expression.
Currently, there was an “undeclared emergency” in Madhya Pradesh, Ajay said and pointed out that anti-Government hoardings put up by his party were removed within hours.
