A day when Congress Working Committee deliberated on the Telangana issue, the party on Friday announced a coordination committee to quell dissidence on the issue of separate statehood.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi approved the formation of coordination committee with AICC in-charge of the state M Veerappa Moily as its chairman. The committee has representation from all three areas of the state -- coastal Andhra, Rayalseema and Telangana.
The formation of the committee comes in the backdrop of the government announcing the formation of the Srikrishna Committee on the vexed issue of separate state of Telangana. Other members of the 9-member committee are Chief Minister K Rosaiah, PCC president D Srinivas, Minister for Tourism Dr Geetha Reddy, former minister K Jana Reddy, and MPs -- Dr KVP Ramachandra Rao, K S Rao, Jaganmohan Reddy.
