New Delhi, Jan 2: A complaint has been filed against AIMMM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi in a police station in Delhi for allegedly giving inflammatory speeches in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi Police said Wednesday.
“The complaint against Akbaruddin Owaisi was received Wednesday at Parliament Street police station,” said a police officer.
Social activist Shabnam Hashmi, who filed the complaint, told IANS: “His speech was highly objectionable, inflammatory and against the country's cultural heritage.”
Akbaruddin Owaisi is an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator while his elder brother Asaduddin Owaisi represents Hyderabad in the Lok Sabha.
In his almost two-hour long speech Dec 24 at Nirmal town at Andhra Pradesh, Akbaruddin Owaisi allegedly tried to instigate the crowd by calling for a “test of strength” against a community.
