Muzaffarnagar:  The district administration has filed a complaint in a court against 14 persons, including BJP MP Hukum Singh and MLA Suresh Rana, for alleged violation of prohibitory orders while holding a protest in Shamli last year, a senior government official said today.

The complaint was filed in Kairana court under Section 188 CrPC (disobeying public servant's order) for allegedly violating prohibitory orders in Shamli in June 2013, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Shamli Ramotar Gupta said.  On June 17, 2013, while prohibitory orders were in force, BJP activists had staged a dharna in Shamli which had turned violent.

The dharna was held to demand immediate arrest of the accused in a gangrape case. Hukum Singh is the BJP MP from Kairana and Suresh Rana is the party MLA from Thana Bhawan.
