Guntur/Vijayawada, Nov 1 : TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should ensure that corruption is weeded out from Congress-ruled states before expecting similar measures from other state governments.
The Prime Minister should first cleanse corruption in Congress ruled states, Naidu said referring to Singh's statement yesterday where he asked all state governments to take measures to improve governance.
“Corruption has increased during UPA's second term and many scams like 2G Spectrum, CWG have come to light. In such a situation, the Congress has to first set right its house before talking on corruption,” he added.
The Prime Minister has to take into confidence all political parties in the fight against corruption, Naidu said.
The TDP chief said there was a need to bring about economic, political and election reforms and accountability in the judicial system. Laws to check and deal with corruption need to be strengthened, he added.
