Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party today said the Union Budget has “highly disappointed” the people who were expecting that the BJP-led government would usher in ‘achhe din'.

“Crores of people who were expecting ‘achhe din' from the General Budget are highly disappointed.

The Union Finance Minister has indicated to the people not to expect good days in next three to four years,” SP's Uttar Pradesh spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in a statement issued here.

He said the central government, which would complete its term in 2019, has promised to provide houses to all by 2022, but no provision has been made to ensure this.

“No arrangement has been made for generating employment which will discourage the youths.

Moreover, UP has been highly ignored in the Budget,” Chaudhary said.  From the Budget it is clear that BJP, which came to power riding high on the promise of good days, is not concerned about farmers, poor and workers, he said, adding that no concrete measure has been taken to tame inflation and address the problem of unemployment.

“This Budget has brought good days only for the capitalists and industrialists,” he alleged.

He alleged that the central government has put national security at stake by allowing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in defence sector.

The spokesman said that overall the budget was “anti-people, anti-farmer and direction-less”, which would further increase inflation.
