Patna: Senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar today said that BJP's victory run would stop in Bihar this year as it resorted to divisive tactics to cover up its failure in not keeping the poll promises.

BJP's victory chariot would stop here. “BJP ka dheere dheere hawa nikal raha hai...2015 me pakhand ka parajay ho jayega (The air of BJP is leaking slowly...2015 will see the end of its hypocrisy),” Kumar told PTI.

Kumar, who is former Chief Minister of Bihar, said 2014 saw BJP coming to power on false promises of bringing back black money, creating jobs for youths and special status to Bihar among others.

“But, all these promises seem being kept on the back burner and the BJP with the help of radical saffron outfits has resorted to divisive tactics by promoting religious conversion and glorifying Nathuram Godse, the killer of father of the nation, to divert peoples attention from these agenda,” he said.

About the merger of old Janata parivar, Kumar who is playing an important role in the unity of splinter parties, said “merger is definite and only some formalities are left to be completed.”

Asked if he would lead the united Janata party in Bihar in the poll later this year, Kumar said “these issues would be decided at right time after the merger process is completed.”

Asked if Congress and Left would be invited to work with the united Janata Party to defeat BJP, Kumar did not dismiss the possibility but said these were issues of future.

The senior JD(U) leader, who resigned from CM post of Bihar in the wake of dismal showing of his party in general election, said BJP leaders were crticising the united Janata Party “out of fear.”

“Had there been no fear they could have simply ignored the issue, but since there is fear in their mind they are speaking so many things about it,” he said.

He said the by-election to 10 Assembly seats in Bihar last year merely two months after BJP thumping victory in the state and the country saw victory of united secular parties comprising JD(U), RJD and Congress.

Asked to rate the performance of Narendra Modi ministry in its seven months in office, Kumar said “the people in the government at the Centre either seems to be confused or are deliberately trying to divert attention of people with the help of divisive agenda like conversion and other issues.”

“Log unke karni aur kathni me pharak dekh rahe hai (People are watching the difference between their words and deeds),” Kumar said.

Asked why he is playing tape of PM in his meetings, Kumar said as an opposition leader it was his duty to tell the people the truth.

“I am playing tape of his speech as it is without many any changes,” he said to justify playing audio record of Narendra Modi speech on black money, bonus for farmers, jobs for youths and special status and special attention to Bihar.

On “Swachata Abhiyan (cleanness drive) launched by PM, Kumar said it was not new in the country.

“If after Mahatama Gandhi anybody who stressed on cleanness it was Rammanohar Lohia whose ideology we are following,” he said.
