“Congress and other leaders are giving irresponsible statements out of frustration. We have given examples of statements of Priyanka Vadra, Beni Prasad Verma, Derek O'Brien, Farooq Abdullah and Lalu Prasad,” Nadda said.

“EC should take appropriate action against them for making such baseless statements. EC should dissuade them from doing so,” he said.

Besides, BJP drew the EC's attention to the recent policy decision taken by the UPA government despite the Model Code of Conduct being in force.

“Since the government is mentally prepared to go they are taking important policy decisions. EC should restrain the UPA government from taking policy decision,” he said.

Referring to the latest meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) chaired by Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath, Nadda said, “Nath called a NCRPB meeting and decided to change the land use of 500 hectares in Haryana government's sub-regional plan for the Aravalli land so that it can be given to private builders.”

Claiming that it was a violation of the poll code, he said, “Aravalli hills is a prime forest land. The outgoing government cannot take a decision on it. We have asked the NCRPB to rescind the decision.”
