New Delhi: BJP wins majority in Jharkhand assembly elections and becomes a kingmaker in J&K. In J&K the saffron party can rule either in collaboration with National Conference or PDP or indirectly through the Governor.

The outcomes will strengthen Modi's leadership and will give a fresh push to the government's development agenda. J&K results are most important and encouraging for the party. The party bagged 23% of the vote share in J&K to win 25 seats, just three behind the largest PDP.

BJP Parliamentary Board will meet today at 11:30 am to discuss the future course of action and finalise the name of the leader who will lead the new government in Jharkhand. The meeting will also explore opportunities of possible alliance with the National Conference (NC) and People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to sources, Party's highest decision-making body will appoint observers for both the states to oversee the formation of new governments.

On Tuesday, BJP chief Amit Shah did not rule out joining hands with either PDP or NC in Jammu and Kashmir saying ‘all options are open' in the state.

“The option of forming a BJP government is open. The option of supporting somebody is also open. The option of joining some government is also open... All three options are open," he told reporters as results showed that the BJP will be second largest party in the state after PDP.

Meanwhile, sources indicated that the saffron party is mulling to appoint a ‘adivasi' Chief Minister in Jharkhand. The names doing the rounds are Raghubar Das, MLA from Jamshedpur East, Shiv Shankar Oraon, MLA from Gumla, Sudarshan Bhagat, MoS for Rural Development in Narendra Modi Cabinet.
