New Delhi: A day before the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, BJP MP Vijay Goel on Wednesday compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Father of the Nation.
Goel, a Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan, put up a poster in front of his official residence on Ashoka Road in which he glorified Modi as the "saint of Sabarmati".
"De di duniya me pahchan nai, uncha kiya bhal, Sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal (Gave a new identity in the world, increased prestige; Sabarmati's saint, you have done wonders)," read the poster that has a picture of the prime minister.
These lines are a take-off on a famous song written on Mahatma Gandhi - "De di hame azadi bina kharag bina dhal, Sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal."
The poster has come up after the prime minister's return here on Tuesday after a seven-day visit to the US and Ireland.
