Patna: BJP today attacked Nitish Kumar for pushing Bihar into ‘political instability' due to his ‘lust for power' and said all options were open for it in the current situation.
“Nitish Kumar is responsible for throwing Bihar into political instability. His desire for remaining in power is an old one. It is this lust for power, which has brought the state to this situation,” said Bihar BJP President Mangal Pandey.
He hit out at Kumar for getting himself elected as the leader of JD(U)LP. “How can Kumar get himself elected as the leader of JD(U)LP when Jitan Ram Manjhi is already its leader? This is unconstitutional and unethical,” Pandey said.
“All options are open for BJP in the current situation and whatever decision our party takes will be in the interest of the state,” he said on the sidelines of a function here in which JD(U) leader Vinay Kumar Pappu and several other leaders joined the saffron party.
Pandey said that Kumar played the ‘mahadalit card' and conducted a charade to anoint Manjhi as the chief minister after the dismal performance by JD (U) in the 2014 general elections just to stay in power.
“Kumar had thought Manjhi will be a puppet chief minister and rule according to his wishes. He got upset when this did not happen. When Manjhi did not become a remote controlled CM, Kumar got his supporters to shower several adverse statements against him,” he added.
