New Delhi: The BJP has taken strong exception to Congress vice president Rahul gandhi's statement that the ongoing conflicts in Uttar Pradesh have been “artificially and deliberately engineered”.
Speaking to a leading newspaper, Rahul Gandhi had said “Communal conflict is being artificially and deliberately engineered in our country, especially in Uttar Pradesh. This is a deliberate strategy to divide the poor of this country and pit brother against brother; to prevent people from uniting to fight the true enemy — inequality, poverty and lack of opportunity.”
“This politics of promoting polarisation and divisiveness for electoral gain must end,” added Rahul.
Reminding Rahul that his party has been rejected by the people of the country, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said "People have rejected them (Congress) and Rahul is still not able to understand.
“He should stop using his secularism formula,” added Naqvi.
BJP leader Giriraj Singh also reacted sharply to Rahul Gandhi's remarks and said ,"I think Rahul Gandhi should not think that people are fool."
Accusing Congress of being arrogant, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Rahul Gandhi should introspect and decide the direction of his own party. Congress should give up on its arrogance."
"People have rejected them (Congress) and he is still not able to understand," he added.
