Aurangabad: BJP has not forgotten “forgotten” the issue, but has welcomed the decision of the High Court, party leader and Union minister Uma Bharti here today said.
Bharti, who was here to campaign for Maharashtra assembly polls, claimed at a press conference that her party was certain to get a “clear majority” and the people wanted a single majority government and “not a coalition”.
Replying to a question on the Ram temple at Ayodhya, Bharti said BJP had not “forgotten” the issue, but had welcomed the decision of the High Court.
The Water Resources Minister also said that the days when the elections were fought on the issue of secularism were passe and development was now the key issue.
Bharti also said that she would not criticise Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray who was like a brother to her. Asked how did the ‘tainted' leaders from other parties become acceptable once they entered BJP, Bharti said, “Every river that flows into Ganga becomes sanctified.”
