Patna, Sep 19: BJP has already projected Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha poll, opposition RJD said today.

“The fast by Modi is nothing but a political drama being enacted by BJP for ensuring its victory in the next Lok Sabha poll,” RJD Secretary General Ramrkripal Yadav, MP, told reporters here.

Yadav said the projection of Modi has ‘poured cold water' on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's dream of becoming prime minister.

“Nitish Kumar had stage-managed praise at national and international levels and was dreaming of becoming PM on the crutches of BJP and RSS. Modi has dealt a blow to Kumar's ambition ... He is now saying that he is not in the race,” he said.

Yadav accused Kumar of being ‘double-faced' for reacting sharply to an advertisement featuring him with Modi and returning flood-relief fund given by Gujarat last year and now maintaining silence on his ministers going to Ahmedabad and extending support to the Gujarat chief minister.

He said Bihar ministers like Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Prem Kumar and Giriraj Singh were openly supporting Modi's fast and Kumar should have shown his secular image by taking action against them.

“Why is he (Kumar) maintaining silence over the issue of his ministers attending the fast by Modi? ... Mr Clean and Mr Secular (Kumar) owes an explanation on this,” he added. PTI
