New Delhi: BJP and expelled AAP leader Yogendra Yadav on Saturday attacked AAP leadership for suspending its two MPs from Punjab opining that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was not comfortable with any other tall leader in the party.
Aam Aadmi Party, however, defended its decision to suspend two its four Punjab MPS, saying that the duo had joined hands with BJP-Akali Dal in the state.
However, BJP Accused the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of not "practicising" what he preaches to others, and said he should first set his own house in ordre before going to Bihar.
"Arvind Kejriwal would say that an organisation or party should function in a democratic manner. He would say that his fight is against corruption. But today he is joining hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Congress party. So he does not practice what he preaches," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.
Patra said that today even Kejriwal's own party people are not comfortable with his leadership and that he should pay attention to it.
"He should first set his own house in order before going to Bihar," he added.
Kejriwal's one-time colleague and Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav said that AAP's Delhi leadership was "scared" of any tall leader in the party.
"Party's Delhi leadership is scared..It is scared of any leader who is tall, who has self respect. Its scared of truth and it is scared of its own volunteers who today demonstrated that they would not accept the whims and fancies of Delhi Durbar," Yadav said.
On the other hand, AAP spokesman Dilip Pandey said "the party was receiving complaints against them (the two MPs) for the past several weeks. These people have already joined hands with BJP-Akali Dal and were involved in anti-party activities in the state."
He said that despite all this, the party was hopeful that the issue could be resolved with talks "but such activities reached an extreme today after they called a parallel meeting. This incident was very unfortunate."
