Lucknow, Jan 16 : BJP has chalked out a massive campaign strategy focusing on issues like crime, corruption and inflation, to improve its performance in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, party vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Sunday .

Senior BJP leaders and Chief Ministers of the party-ruled states would also expose “shadow-boxing between SP, BSP and Congress”, Naqvi, who is also convener of party's election management committee, told reporters here.

While senior leaders including L K Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari and Narendra Modi would attack the opposition parties, star campaigners like Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Smriti Irani and Navjot Singh Sidhu would also woo the electorate.

As part of poll campaign nukkad nataks would be organised, Naqvi said.

“A good governance vehicle will also be launched through which live telecast of meetings of senior leaders and star campaigners will be done,” he said.

He said that against 403 seats in the state, the party has announced 381 candidates of which 123 were OBCs and 83 SCs.

He said that the party has given tickets to 45 women candidates, besides five former and present state presidents, and 27 former ministers.

“Of all the party candidates, 162 are youths of which 131 will be contesting election for the first time,” he said.
