New Delhi, July 14: With UPA expected to formally decide its Vice Presidential nominee tomorrow, BJP is remaining ambivalent on the issue.

There have been no indications from the party, heading the NDA, whether it would contest the August 7 poll or would support a nominee of any opposition party as it had done in the Presidential poll.

A senior BJP leader when asked about the issue said there is still time for the election.

The last date for making nominations for the Vice Presidential poll is July 20, a day after the Presidential election.

The BJP leader also refused to comment on whether the party would give a walkover to the UPA nominee, who most likely is the incumbent Hamid Ansari.

Sources say certain BJP leaders are not in favour of giving a walkover to UPA on the issue, but a section is not keen on putting up its candidate saying the post did not matter much.

BJP was also non-committal on whether to support a non-BJP candidate and if the JD-U will support it in the Vice Presidential poll, as it had supported UPA in the Presidential election.

The party is likely to formulate its policy on the issue soon and announce its decision in the next week.
