Mumbai, Jul 18: BJP leaders Kirit Somaiya and Devendra Phadanvis on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, accusing him of corruption, a charge refuted by him.
The BJP leaders lodged the complaint at ACB office in South Mumbai.
The NCP leader has been accused of indulging in corrupt practices, money laundering, benami transactions, grabbing Government land contracts through unfair means and misusing his official position, among others.
Bhujbal, his friends and family-owned companies are involved in several non-transparent and corrupt transactions, using a web of firms to park the scam money, Somaiya said.
The New Maharashtra Sadan project in Delhi is marred with controversies and corruption, he said.
The project cost went up from Rs 52 crore to Rs 152 crore.
Bhujbal misused his position and passed the Maharashtra Sadan work through benami companies to his own/family companies, Somaiya, a former MP, added. Meanwhile, refuting the allegations, Bhujbal said the charges were baseless.
