New Delhi, Feb 21: BJP today said it has agreed to the government's proposal to have a JPC only on the 2G Spectrum allocation scam and would merely discuss the irregularities in the Commonwealth Games projects and Adarsh Housing society during the Budget session of Parliament.

"There will be a JPC on 2G issue. We will discuss other issues on the floor of the House," Deputy Leader of BJP in the Rajya Sabha S S Ahluwalia said when asked if BJP had given up its demand for a JPC on CWG and Adarsh Housing society.

In the Lok Sabha Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, Deputy Leader of the BJP Gopinath Munde demanded that the JPC should be announced before the Question Hour begins tomorrow.

While the JPC is likely to be announced tomorrow, a motion to form the parliamentary panel will be moved by Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal on February 24, after the Motion of Thanks to the President for her address to the joint sitting of Parliament.

BJP has requested in BAC meetings of the respective Houses of Parliament that the Commonwealth Games scam, Adarsh Housing society, rations scam in the army, allocation of S-band to Devas Multimedia and Indian Black money stashed abroad should be discussed this week.

"We have demanded that discussions should also be held on price rise, increase in naxal activity, Chinese intrusions and functioning of the CBI," Ahluwalia said.

The main opposition also wants to raise the issues of harassment of fishermen by Sri Lankan navy, the recent Sabarimala stampede and the treatment meted out to BJP workers by the government during its Tiranga Yatra to Kashmir.

Meanwhile, BJP also expressed its disappointment over today's Presidential address.

"President Pratibha Patil only read out para by para the problems people of India are fighting - be it corruption, price rise, black money, anomalies in PDS or internal security," Ahluwalia said.

"She said her government is committed. Committed to what? he posed.

He alleged that the government was lacking in transparency and in setting an example.

The BJP was expecting solutions to these problems but these were not mentioned in the address and this was disheartening, Ahluwalia insisted. "The speech was not up to our expectations," he said. PTI
