New Delhi: Congress in Delhi Sunday alleged that power distribution companies have collected crores of rupees by forcing the consumers to increase the load capacity and called for an impartial probe into the matter.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) alleged that BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were protecting the discoms and a large portion of this amount has gone as a share of corruption.

Addressing a ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyaan' at Babarpur Assembly constituency here, DPCC President Arvinder Singh, Congress leaders Haroon Yusuf and Mukesh Sharma demanded an impartial enquiry into the role of BJP and AAP leaders in this alleged scandal.

The Congress leaders claimed that AAP's silence over the issue shows that they are not only sympathetic towards the power companies but were also in collusion with them.

They also alleged that BJP leaders were deliberately giving statements against the Muslim community to divert the attention from serious issues like power and water.

“They added that the BJP was trying to create friction in the social and secular fabric of the country in a deliberately planned manner,” DPCC said in a press statement.

The Congress leaders also claimed that AAP's silence on the alleged offensive statement given by a BJP leader has established that AAP had a strong bonding with BJP and RSS.  They also questioned the removal of income and expenditure details by AAP from its party website saying that it should be probed.
