Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: Biju Janata Dal MP Bhartruhari Mahtab has said that his party would be willing to support a BJP-led government, if BJp and its allies have the capability to for a government at the Centre.
Mahatab said BJD was not averse to Narendra Modi. “Our party is against the practice of political untouchability”, he said, when asked about BJD's stand on Modi.
The BJD MP said, his party had three options: maintaining equidistance from both Congress and BJP, supporting a formation that is in a position to form a government at the Centre, and/or be part of the next government at the Centre. But he ruled out the possibility of a pre-poll tie-up.
Mahtab said, his party had the necessary political clout in Odisha to win the next Lok Sabha elections.
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik had been networking with Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on several issues relating to states.
