Patna: Campaigning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections will end today evening.
A total of 49 constituencies will go to poll in this phase on Monday.
583 candidates, including 54 women are in the fray. 1.35 crore voters (Male 72.28 Lakh and Female 63.07 Lakh) will exercise their franchise in this phase.
The districts that will go to polls in the first phase are Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui.
HAM (S) state president Shakuni Chaudhary, LJP MP Ram Chandra Paswan's son Prince Raj, Congress MLA Ajit Sharma, BJP MLA Surendra Mehta are some of the key candidates fighting the first phase of polls.
The remaining four phase polling will held on October 16, October 28, November 1 and November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
