New Delhi, Apr 22: Sunil Kumar Pintu, tourism minister in Bihar government, has come out in open in support of Nitish Model of governance. The minister who belongs to the BJP told an English daily that Nitish model is better than Gujarat model.
Explaining the reason as to why he thinks Nitish model is better than Modi's model, the minister told the daily ,” "Even before Modiji assumed the mantle of governance, Gujarat was already a developed state. On the other hand Nitishji took over from scratch but managed to script a turnaround story in Bihar. Compared to Gujarat, the Bihar model is much better and is receiving plaudits from within the country and beyond."
The statement of BJP minister clearly indicates that fissures have developed in the state unit of the BJP over whether to stick with Nitish led JD(U) or part ways before 2014 elections.
BJP has 91 members in a house of 243 members and Pintu is one of a few BJP leaders who have indicated their preference for continuing the alliance even if it means surrendering to JD(U) on Modi issue.
