New Delhi: The NDA partners in Bihar finally reached a seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

BJP president Amit Shah today announced that out of total 243 seats, his party will contest 160 seats.

While Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will field candidates on 40 seats, Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Avam Morcha (Secular) and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will contest 23 and 20 seats, respectively.

Shah expressed confidence that the NDA will bag over 185 seats in the polls.

Meanwhile, BJP sources said that that its Central Election Committee is likely to meet tomorrow as party is keen to announce the names of its nominees at least for the seats which go to polls in the first few phases.

The five-phase polling for the 243-member assembly begins from October 12 and concludes on November 5. Counting will be done on November 8.
