Thane: BJP MP from Bhiwandi Kapil Patil today said he has demanded setting up of an independent body for the development of coastal Konkan region of Maharashtra. “I put this demand before Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently,” Patil said on the sidelines of a function here.
Patil said among other demands he raised with the CM are including Bhiwandi in JNNURM programme, setting up of a central school for newly-created Palghar district, extending the CRZ limit to 150 metres from current 100 metres to promote construction activities etc.
The MP said reservation for tribals in Thane district be scaled down to 7 per cent from current 23 per cent owing to division of the district.
