New Delhi, Aug 9: It could be an act of some overzealous Ramdev supporters, or a deliberate faux pas, but Acharya Balkrishna's picture today appeared among national leaders Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, JP, and Kanchi Shankaracharya on a long banner stretched out at Ramlila Maidan.

At the bottom of the banner was written, 'Acharyaji mahaan hain, Yogiyon ke bhagwan hain' (Acharyaji is great, he is the god of yogis).

After some news channels telecasted the banner with arrows pointed at the picture of Balkrishna, presently in Dehradun jail on charge of procuring passport on the basis of forged degree, the banner was hurriedly pulled down.

Acharya Balkrishna is No.2 in Ramdev's hierarchy and the chancellor of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Ramdev's yoga university.

Several hours later, Baba Ramdev mentioned the incident and said, one of his associates Bhai Jaideepji has expressed regret.

Ramdev said: "Thousands of posters are being put up at this venue. This is a people's movement. If anybody has made a mistake, Bhai Jaideepji has expressed regret.

"We can never think in our dreams of insulting our revolutionaries. I would like to tell our workers not to commit such errors in future."
