Kolkata: Induction of singer-turned-BJP MP Babul Supriyo in the Union Ministry will help BJP in its fight against “misrule” of Trinamool Congress before the 2016 state assembly polls, party National Secretary and its West Bengal incharge Siddharth Nath Singh today said.
“As the in-charge of the state I am extremely happy that an energetic youth like Babul has been inducted in the Union ministry. I feel that Babul's induction in the ministry will help us in our fight against the misrule of Trinamool Congress in the state before the big fight of 2016 Assembly polls,” Singh told PTI.
“I have told Babul that he has to work very hard for the development of the people and also in our fight against the misrule of TMC. He has said that he will not let us down,” Singh said.
Supriyo is one of the two BJP MPs elected to the Lok Sabha from West Bengal in the general elections. State BJP President Rahul Sinha also congratulated Babul and felt that his induction in the Union ministry will boost the morale of the party workers in the state.
“The state BJP is extremely happy that Babul has got a berth in the Union ministry. It will boost the morale of our party workers in the state and will also energise them in fighting against the incompetent Trinamool Congress regime in the state,” Sinha said.
Huge celebrations by BJP workers took place at various parts of the state including Babul Supriyo's constituency Asansol.
A BJP Yuva Morcha rally organised under the leadership of Krishanu Mitra was held in Entally Market area of Kolkata today. BJP party workers also celebrated Babul's induction in the ministry outside party offices in the state.
