VHP leader Praveen Togadia on Monday questioned Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi's love for Hindi,  and accused him of dividing the Hindi speaking Hindus in Maharashtra and said he has no moral right to talk of Hindi.

"Azmi's family had opposed Hindi in Uttar Pradesh and advocated Urdu as state language," Togadia told reporters in Nagpur  saying he has no moral right to talk of Hindi.

Togadia was replying to a question over the incident of Azmi being manhandled on the floor of the house in Maharashtra Assembly during oath taking in Hindi on the opening day of the session.

Togadia however ducked questions over justifying act of rowdism on the floor of the house by Raj Thackeray-led MNS MLAs.

Earlier, Togadia demanded arrests of all Islamic scholars present at the function where the Deoband issued 'Fatwa' against singing national song Vande Matram.

Giving virtually a clean chit to Home Minister P Chidambaram and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Togadia said both were not present when the 'Fatwa' was issued.

Those Islamic preachers (Moulvis) present at the function should be tried under the provisions of Anti-National Act, Togadia demanded.

VHP was also contemplating legal action against the islamic organisation, he said and warned Hindus will strongly protest against such diktats. PTI
