Rampur: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan alleged that he received threat calls and derogatory mails after his recent comments on state governor, Ram Naik.
“The governor it seems, is acting like a political activist working at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and trying to build an anti wave against Muslims in the country,” claimed SP leader and state Urban Development minister.
While addressing the media, Khan remarked, “People on phone are threatening to teach me a lesson quoting the statements of state governor which is very shocking. Not only me but Muslims across the country are living in persistent fear as they feel anything can happen to them under the present scenario.”
Attacking the social media he said, “It has become the mouthpiece of such elements. My critics are using such derogatory terms against me on Facebook through slanderous posts which are not permitted in civilized society. The development is an outcome of statements made by the governor.”
Khan added that he had informed the police about these threat calls.
“Very soon I am planning to meet the President along with relevant proof, seeking his intervention in the matter.” He said.
