Hema Malini's daughter Isha Deol described Maharashtra as a "safe state" but sought more security for women.
After voting, actress Sonali Bendre said the citizens needed better infrastructure in the metropolis. "We love the city.. Come on Mumbaikars step out and vote."
Veteran actor Anupam Kher said that he hopes for clean governance. "We are expecting a clean system. There are various areas that need concentration, including corruption, infrastructure, water for poor and education among others."
Marathi actor Subodh Bhave said, "I consider voting as my birth right and I am not doing a favour by exercising my franchise."
Another Marathi actress Mukta Barve, who cast her vote, said, "Voting is a way of citizen's participation in governance in deciding who will rule them in the coming years."
Noted lyricist and Rajya Sabha member Javed Akhtar, Chandigarh MP and actress Kirron Kher, Rajya Sabha member and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan too voted in the city.
