New Delhi: In a speech sure to raise the heckles of secularists and anti-RSS lobby in India, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal today told the World Hindu Congress that power in Delhi has now returned to those who pride in Hinduism, 800 years after the defeat of the last Hindu ruler Prithviraj Chauhan.

"We in Vishwa Hindu Parishad want to raise fearless Hindus", declared Singhal, in the presence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

Singhal said: "Hindus lost power in Delhi 800 years ago with the defeat of the last Hindu king Prithviraj Chauhan. Today that power is back with those who pride themselves on Hinduism."

The VHP leader said, India needs to evolve as an indomitable superpower. "Only then will Hindu dharma and sanskriti will survive", he added.

Singhal pointed out that he wanted "an indomitable Hinduism for the welfare of the whole world."
