New Delhi, Jun 8: Arvind Kejriwal has assets worth 71 lakh that include a plot of land in Indirapuram worth Rs. 70 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh in bank deposit.
The AAP leader has made this declaration in his application for the party ticket from New Delhi assembly constituency. Kejriwal plans to take on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit from this constituency in upcoming assembly elections.
Kejriwal has also declared that his wife, an IRS officer, owns a flat in Gurgaon worth Rs 1 Crore and has a bank balance of Rs 1 lakh.
According to Manish Sisodiya, AAP spokesperson, only two candidates had applied from New Delhi assembly constituency and the party has decided to select Kejriwal as the party candidate as the other candidate's application was rejected after it was found incomplete.
Interestingly, Kejriwal has changed his residence from Kaushambi in Ghaziabad to Sundar Nagari in east Delhi.
According to Sisodiya, Kejriwal has acquired a new voter ID card after surrendering his Ghaziabad card.
Kejriwal has shifted his residence to Delhi so that he becomes eligible to fight Delhi assembly elections because as per existing rules a person whose name does not figure in the voters' list in Delhi cannot fight assembly polls here.
