Ahmedabad, Mar 19: Patricia Marcus, Director of Asia Pacific Institute of American Jewish Committee (AJC), yesterday met Chief Minister Narendra Modi and discussed areas for cooperation and stregthening ties between Israel and Gujarat, an official statement said.
Marcus, who is associated with the US Democratic Party and works on international relations, discussed ties between the Jewish and Gujarati community, fast changing global economic scenario, amongst others, it said.
She also discussed the development of Gujarat, India and Asia, global economic situation, energy security and aspects of USA's relations with Gujarat, it added.
During the meeting with Marcus, Modi enumerated the cooperation between Israel and Gujarat in sectors like water management, agriculture and energy security.
An active alumi of AJC Bharat Barai and Benjamin Chuben of Jewish Synagogue were present during the meeting, the statement said.
