Samajwadi Party general secretary Ram Asrey Kushwaha on Monday said expelled leader Amar Singh was a burden on the party and his exit had gladdened party workers. Singh was never a political person and was, in fact, a burden on the Samajwadi Party, he told a gathering in Shahwazpur village in Fatehpur (UP).
Several party leaders and workers felt suffocated when he was in the party, Kushwaha said. "But now, the situation has changed. Party workers are working with more enthusiasm after the departure of Singh," he said. The SP leader said the party would strove hard to win 300 seats in the next assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
