New Delhi: The BJP has reacted sharply to Manishankar Aiyar's statement in which he had advocated a poll tie-up between Congress and AAP in order to put a break to the forward march of Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

"I hope, I pray that the AAP stops the BJP and Modi. I would certainly welcome any assistance from the AAP in stopping this Hitler from coming to power," Aiyar had reportedly said in response to a question.

The BJP reacted to it by saying that Aiyar's statement clearly reflects that the Congress has already conceded defeat and that's why they are seeking assistance of AAP for stopping Narendra Modi.

"This is what the Congress mindset is. Now they have realised that they can't win, they can't fight Modi and BJP and therefore what they are contemplating is that they want to take cooperation of AAP or all those parties," said BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.
