New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to drop ministers from his Cabinet who have failed to perform.

According to a NDTV report, the next round of Cabinet reshuffle will be held after the Winter Session of Parliament as Modi's schedule is packed till then.

The report said that the Prime Minister and BJP chief Amit Shah will also be taking a decision on the ministers who worked on the communal lines, creating trouble for the party in the Bihar Assembly polls.

As mentioned, at least 5 key ministers including Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh may face the heat. The two were camping in Bihar ever since the poll dates for Assembly elections were announced while their departments were battling crisis.

Overall, there are 30 ministers who campaigned in Bihar and 11 were in the state to oversee the campaign.

Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad too was out of his office when Modi had said the issue of call drops must be addressed on a priority basis.

The other ministers who were away from their departments include Health Minister JP Nadda, Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma, MoS for External Affairs VK Singh, MoS MSME Giriraj Singh and others have also caused severe embarrassment to the BJP government with their remarks.

The latest development in Bihar holds significance because the shocking defeat of the BJP has raised question marks over the smooth functioning of Parliament during the Winter Session. Keeping this in view, the Prime Minister is mulling dropping non performing ministers from his Cabinet to silence the opposition.

Most political leaders and experts including some BJP leaders have also expressed doubt that the Parliament session would be stalled by the resurgent opposition.

Meanwhile, sources said that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh will meet today in Parliament House to decide the date of Winter Session, which usually begins in third week of December.
