New Delhi: BJP patriarch L K Advani has once again made a statement that reflects his unwillingness to give full credit to Narendra Modi for BJP's spectacular performance in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
On a day Narendra Modi made his maiden speech from the Red Fort, Advani's statement indicated he has only grudgingly accepted the numero uno position of Modi in the party.
According to L K Advani, Narendra Modi “also contributed” to the BJP's massive win but the biggest contribution came from the Congress.
"The massive campaign carried out under the leadership of Narendra Modi also contributed to the victory. But the biggest contribution was from our Opposition... Had they not committed so many grave errors and had people not witnessed so much corruption in the last 10 years, then probably this kind of result would not have come," said Advani.
Advani, however, praised the Independence Day speech of Narendra Modi and termed it as excellent.
Advani was also present at the Red Fort yesterday where Narendra Modi made his maiden Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
