Chennai, Mar 27: After actors Vijayakant and Sarathkumar, AIADMK today ensured the support of one more top Tamil filmstar Vijay for its alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
Vijay's father and actor-director S A Chandrasekaran met AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa at Tiruchirappalli during her campaign and assured the support of 'Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam,' a fan's movement in his son's name, to the AIADMK combine, a party release said here.
Vijay had made his political intentions clear when he staged a protest at Nagapattinam recently against the killing of Indian fishermen allegedly by Sri Lankan Navy.
Vijayakant's DMDK and Sarathkumar's AISMK have already entered into a poll pact with Jayalalithaa to face the polls and have been allotted 41 and three seats, respectively. PTI
