Ranchi, Jul 13:  After being sworn in as the ninth Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren today said law would take its own course in connection with some ruling MLAs evading arrest.

"Law will take its own course," Soren told reporters here when his attention was drawn to two of his 43 supporting MLAs, against whom there are criminal cases, evading arrests.

Jharkhand High Court had recently pulled up the state police for their inability to arrest JMM MLAs Sita Soren and Nalin Soren.

While Sita is facing abduction charges, Nalin is wanted by the vigilance bureau for questioning in a seed scam when he was agriculture minister in the erstwhile Madhu Koda government.

Meanwhile, to put development on the fast track, Soren announced that his new government would soon give shape to a 100-day plan on progressive initiatives.

"All departments have been asked to submit detailed reports on developmental initiatives taken by them this year, and place them before the next cabinet meeting," Soren told reporters after the swearing-in ceremony.

He said the departments were also given directions to prepare developmental plans so that they could be approved and put development works on the fast track.

Soren also announced compensation to families hailing from Jharkhand who lost their relatives in Uttarakhand flood.

At his first press conference as the CM, he said a minimum of Rs one lakh would be given to the families whose members were missing in the calamity.

The government would soon seek details from the afflicted families belonging to the state, he said.
