New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came into existence after nationwide agitation seeking a Lokpal legislation. But it has now contradicted its own stand on the issue.

Yesterday, the party removed Admiral L Ramdas as AAP's internal Lokpal and appointed a new three-member panel. The abrupt decision came a day after the AAP's National Council sacked four key members from National Executive.

The new members of the Loklal panel include Kejriwal loyalists former IPS officers N Dilip Kumar and Rakesh Sinha besides educationist SP Verma.

This has exposed the Arvind Kejriwal-led party's double-speak on the issue of Lokpal.

In 2011 and 2012, the main point of India Against Corruption (IAC) movement was to demand a strong Jan Lokpal Bill. But division among key members of the movement led to a split with Kejriwal forming the Aam Aadmi Party and Anna Hazare formulating Jantantra Morcha.

Here it is also important to note that Kejriwal had in February 2014 resigned from the CM post after his government failed to table the Jan Lokpal Bill in Delhi Assembly.

In another decision yesterday, the party removed Prashant Bhushan as the head of the national disciplinary committee and formed a three-member panel.

The AAP National Executive, while sacking Bhushan from the disciplinary committee, decided to replace him by a three-member panel headed by Dinesh Waghela. The other members are Kejriwal loyalist Ashish Khetan and Pankaj Gupta.

The party has now decided to file a complaint against Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, Anand Kumar and Arvind Jha with the disciplinary panel.
