New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party will hold country-wide protest tomorrow against the fuel price hike.
The party will oppose the hike inside and outside Parliament and will mobilise support against the Narendra Modi government.
“AAP will hold nationwide protests on Sunday. Various units and frontal organisations of the party and its volunteers would be holding demonstrations and hold outreach programs to sensitise people on the anti-people plans of the BJP government at the Centre,” it said in a statement.
AAP Delhi unit will protest at Jantar Mantar led by state party convener Dilip Pandey and secretary Saurabh Bhardwaj with all MLAs of Delhi.
The party said the fuel price hike would have a chain reaction and affect the poor people.
“This is the fourth increase in fuel prices this year and second in a row in the last 15 days. The story of good days is reaching its diagonally opposite end with the rise in petrol and diesel prices, now all slated to miserably affect everyday lives.
“Increase in fuel price will also increase in food price. This will have a severe impact on poor people because poor households spend more than half of their income on food. It is a chain reaction once started will affect all in the days to come,” the statement said.
