New Delhi: AAP MLA from Mangolpuri Rakhi Bidlan today demanded immediate sacking of the police personnel who had allegedly thrashed two Dalit girls inside Rohini south police station in outer Delhi.

Terming the incident as “barbaric”, Bidlan alleged that the girls were stripped and beaten up by both male and female police officials.

“The two girls were summoned at the police station and beaten up mercilessly by both male and female constables for hours after they were made to remove their cloths.

“This is barbaric and all of them should be dismissed from service and should be made to face criminal charges as well,” Bidlan told reporters at AAP office in Patel Nagar.

“Not only constables, but senior officers and entire police station deserve to be suspended. How can they beat the girls in a police station that houses senior police officers? This could not have been possible without the consent of those senior officials.” alleged Rakhi.

Saying that she doe not believe in Delhi Police anymore, Bidlan said she would be meeting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, L-G Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi to apprise them about the brutality and severity of the issue.

When she was asked as to what was the case that led the two girls to face “third degree”, Bidlan said, “Forget about the case, just see the atrocity of the police officers? Which laws permit them to do so?”

Giving details on the incident, the victims' mothers, who live in I-block of Mangolpuri, told reporters that around four-five months back, owner of the firm where their daughters worked had filed a case of theft with the police.

“Despite the fact that police had already quizzed both the girls in the past, they called our daughters yesterday once again in police station around 9.30 am and tortured them till 5 pm, without serving them food and water. Our daughters are even unable to move,” they alleged.

Bidlan said, “I spoke to the DCP as soon as the matter was brought to my notice. A case has been registered against the four constables under relevant sections of the IPC and the SC/ST Act and they have been suspended.”

“However, I am not satisfied with the progress and demand to deal the case in such a way that it will set a precedent and no police officer can ever dare to repeat such a brazen violation of rights,” added Bidlan.
