New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday asked the government to postpone the UPSC preliminary exam by fortnight in view of the current situation over the civil services test.
"With time running out and students' career at stake, the Aam Aadmi Party appeals to the central government to announce some emergency measures for immediate relief, keeping the current situation in mind. The Central government must ask UPSC to postpone the Civil Services preliminary examination scheduled to begin from August 24 by at least a fortnight, to begin with," the party said in a statement.
The UPSC must be told to make a public declaration that the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) will be treated as merely a qualifying exam and its marks will not be added in the final merit for those who attain the minimum qualifying marks, the party sought.
AAP also wanted the government to ‘publicly acknowledge that the current Civil Services examination pattern is neither language neutral nor stream neutral'.
